Custard Apple Srikhand

Srikhand is a very popular Gujarat dessert , which is basically thickened yogurt with flavoring. It is usually served with poories or can be eaten as such . I have given a little twist to the original srikhand and have flavored it with custard apple or sharifa. It turned out delicious. Give this combo a try. Here is the recipe.

All you need is

Yogurt - 3 cups
Powdered sugar - 1\2 cup
Custard apple - 1 cup ( de-seeded )
Dry fruit slivers for garnishing

Method of preparation

Hang yogurt in a muslin cloth for 3-4 hours.
Remove the thick yogurt from the cloth in a bowl.
This thick yogurt is called chakka.
Add powdered sugar in the chakka and mix well.
Add the de-seeded custard apple and mix well.
Transfer the srikhand in the serving bowls.
Garnish with slivered dry fruits.
Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
Serve with poories or as such.
